Christian describes his work as a combination of the New Hope and Cape Ann Schools of painting. Christian resides with his wife and daughter in Bucks County, PA. Artist's Statement: Painting from life means painting the model, still-life, or nature from direct observation. No doubt, there is great importance to be placed on working from life, either outdoors or in the studio. An artist can only benefit from this kind of directness in study. I think every artist is challenged when painting en plein aire, and our skills are greatly strengthened and refined for it. The practice of study, work, examine.coupled with moments of discovery and understanding, make the quest for the art spirit a joyful experience.
