Colleen Matthews earned her fine arts degree from Mason Gross College of the Arts, Rutgers University.

There she studied painting and printmaking. Throughout her career as an artist, Colleen has been selected for numerous awards and invitational exhibitions. In 2003, Matthews co-founded Radclyffe Gallery & Framing in Lahaska PA.

Matthews considers herself an abstract painter inspired by nature. She often simplifies objects to their most basic form.

Contrasts are often present in her work, juxtaposing organic and inorganic shapes. She often creates a textured surface to paint on. Most recently, she has experimented with vintage dress patterns collaged onto canvas as her starting surface.

Currently, Colleen Matthews lives in Bucks County with her partner Nicole and their two dogs Malachai and Rudy.
