Helena van Emmerik-Finn enjoys the medium of pastel because it gives her the freedom to work with strong colors in a spontaneous, intuitive style, and with the immediacy of a bold, Impressionist application. Helena’s still life pastels have an old-world feeling to them. She loves to include pieces from her Delft-Blue porcelain collection in them. Her landscapes range from local scenes to depictions of her many travels. Throughout her career as a fine artist, Helena ha s garnered much acclaim for her work in pastel. She has not only exhibited her work in the area’s most prestigious juried shows but has also won numerous, including Rittenhouse Square Fine Arts Annual, Lititz Fine Arts Annual, Phillips Mill Annual Fall Exhibition, Lambertville Historical Society Annual Juried Exhibition. Most recently, Helena was the featured artist at the 2008 Galaxy Art Show in Doylestown PA. |
